What’s all this then?
Let’s face it: nobody really knows what’s going on in business analysis. Not your boss, not all those thought leaders on LinkedIn talking about “synergy”, and sometimes (let’s be honest) not even us.
That’s why we’re launching SOAP.2025 the State of Analysis Practice survey. Because the only way to clear up the confusion is to actually ask the people doing the work.
No hidden agendas. No sales pitches. Just real analysts gathering real data about our profession, because we’re kind of nerdy like that.
Why take the survey?
- Because you’re curious – you can find out what everyone else is up to!
- It only takes 10 minutes.
- For the data – help build the most comprehensive picture of what business analysts actually do.
- To settle arguments – next time someone says “all BAs do X”, you’ll have actual data to prove them wrong. Or right! We’re keeping an open mind here.
- For the greater good – your input will help shape understanding of our profession. Plus, you get to feel good about contributing to open-source research. Go you!
Go on! Take the survey! It will be great.
When will we see the results?
We’ll keep the survey open from February through to the end of May 2025 and we plan to have published results by June. If you indicate that you want to receive the report (when you’re filling out the survey), then expect results in your inbox around about then!
Open sauce?
Yes, totally open source! We’re making all survey results publicly available. Want the raw data to do your own nerding? Just ask (nicely) and we’ll anonymise it and send it your way.
Because good data should belong to everyone.
